Camp Health Care Supervisor (RN, LPN or EMT)

The Camp Health Care Supervisor is responsible for providing and overseeing the health and safety of campers and staff at Camp Naticook which is a traditional Day Camp Program for children in Grades K – 8

Tasks which can include:

• providing first aid and emergency care,
• dispensing medication,
• health communication/coordination with parents and doctors,
• medical records management, and training employees.

Examples of Duties

• Provide health care to meet individual needs of camp staff and campers.
• Follow health care policies/procedures as described in the Healthcare Manual and treatment procedures according to standing orders
• Organize, maintain, and utilize adequate resources for serving the health and medical needs of the campers and staff.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records according to state and American Camp Association Standards and log them into Camp Doc
• Ensure staff and camper health examinations are current and on file.
• Prepare and utilize daily medical log for treatment and medications.
• Prepare and record insurance and accident report forms.
• Ensure supplies are well stocked and distributed as needed.
• Identify any observable evidence of illness or communicable diseases.
• Conduct health assessments
• Keep all medications used by campers and staff.
• Supervise sanitary conditions throughout camp.
• Observe daily cleanliness in the food service facility and other areas throughout camp.
• Report any health problems or symptoms of illness to the Camp Director.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Additional Comments/Information:

Position is Full Time Seasonal (40 hours per week) and works Mondays - Fridays Position open until filled. Review of applications begins immediately

Requirements:

Applicant must currently hold one of the following licenses or certifications: Certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certified First Responder Registered Nurse (RN) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Suggested Experience:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Skills in communication, leadership and public relations Knowledge of the development stages of children in Grades K – 8 preferably in a Camp Setting Ability to think critically and make sound evaluations Ability to connect with campers and staff members Ability to communicate and train staff and campers in safety regulations and emergency procedures. Experience working with CampDoc a plus
