Assistant Director- Boys’ Camp

Brantwood for Boys, a residential camp dedicated to serving inner-city and low-income boys between the ages of 10 and 15, is seeking an experienced leader to fill its Boys’ Camp Assistant Camp Director position. The Assistant Director works in collaboration with the Boys’ Camp Director and Operations Director to supervise 60 campers and 25 staff members, ensure the quality of the program, and ensure the well-being and safety of everyone at Camp.

Brantwood runs 3 15-day sessions in the summer with a staff orientation/training period before campers arrive. Dates of employment are June 15^th – August 19^th

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience, preferably in a camp setting
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally and in writing
• Driver’s license
• Satisfactory completion of a background and driving check

Responsibilities include:

• Working collaboratively with the Camp Director to run the Camp together
• Assist the Camp Director with the daily supervision of 60 campers and 25 staff members
• Encourage positive leadership, quality programming, and ensure the health, well-being, and safety of the staff and campers
• Implement an existing Counselor-in-Training program for 16 and 17-year-olds
• Assist the Camp Director with overseeing the implementation of an existing program that includes athletics, team building activities, swimming, hiking, ropes course challenges, and a variety of other traditional camp activities
• Assist the Camp Director in ensuring that American Camp Association Standards and State of New Hampshire regulations are followed in all areas of Camp operations
