Liz Puleo, West Suburban YMCA’s 2025 Boston Marathon Runner
“This spring, longtime Y member Liz Puleo ran the 129th Boston Marathon to benefit the West Suburban YMCA, fulfilling a lifelong dream and honoring the legacy of Fred Greene—a dedicated YMCA board member and beloved community leader. Liz’s connection to the Y runs deep: her children attended WSYMCA summer camps, and she fondly recalls hearing about their daily adventures. ‘These experiences have made the Y a cornerstone of our family’s life,’ she shares. Liz’s commitment reflects the spirit of our YMCA camps, all of which are ACA-accredited or actively pursuing accreditation, like Camp Wells. Through her incredible efforts, Liz not only completed the marathon but also surpassed her fundraising goals, raising nearly $12,000 to support the WSYMCA’s mission. Way to go, Liz!” – Submitted by Katie Sopcik, WSYMCA
