Job Description

Since 1924 the Dedham Community House Summer Camp has helped create lifelong childhood memories of summers filled with fun in the sun. We strive to provide a safe, comfortable, fun, enriching and reliable summer camp environment that promotes the physical, social, and intellectual well-being of children ages 4-15.

The Dedham Community House Summer Camp is currently seeking applicants for multiple positions on our Summer Leadership Team working with our 4-12 year old’s and 13-15 year old’s. Summer Camp Directors are responsible for working with the Dedham Community House Program Director to ensure a safe, fun, enriching summer camp experience for 12 weeks over the summer. Our summer camp directors will co-lead a camp staff of approximately 45 counselors and will have responsibility over a camp of approximately 200 children per session. The focus for our camp directors should be on creating and maintaining a safe, engaging camp community for staff, campers and families.

Candidates must be available for pre-camp meetings, training and interviews including weekend and evenings occasionally now through June. Position is seasonal, full time beginning June 15, 2020 and ending on September 4, 2020 with some post camp work possible. Some flexibility in start dates/end dates may be made for the most ideal candidates.

The ideal candidate(s) will be 21+and possess a bachelor's degree in recreation, education or another related field and will have prior camp supervisory experience. Knowledge of current Massachusetts camp regulations are a must. Current CPR and First Aid certifications will be required as well as passing a background check prior to employment start date.
