- Oversee all operations of Outdoor Education programs including but not limited to managing bookings and sales, staff training and supervision, program quality, and program evaluation
- Oversee all operations of Group Rentals including weddings and birthday parties including but not limited to managing bookings and sales, staff training and supervision, program quality, and program evaluation
- Oversee all operations of Homeschool programs including but not limited to registration, family communication, staff training and supervision, program quality, and program evaluation. OEC will work in ratio and directly delivery Homeschool programs.
- Responsible for all aspects of the Vacation Camp programs in December, February, and April including staff recruitment, program planning, program evaluation, and budget.
- Work with the Camp Registrar and Finance department to ensure that all payments and contracts are processed in a timely manner.
- Support summer camp operations through overseeing weekly such as food shopping, laundering lost and found, and assisting with community events.
- Assist and support Director of Camping Services in construction of the annual camp budget relevant to year-round programs
- Ensure that all programs conform to American Camp Association (ACA) Standards, YMCA best practices, and state/ federal legislation.
- In collaboration with the Director of Camping Services, ensure that all facilities, property, program areas, and equipment and maintained to a high standard.
- Ability to work weekends as needed and assist with special events and fundraising campaigns.
- Will assist other YMCA programs during the off-season to ensure the quality of programs provided to the community.
- Other duties as assigned.

Southern District YMCA Camp Lincoln has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic and creative Outdoor Education Coordinator. Founded in 1926 on the shores of Kingston Lake, YMCA Camp Lincoln is a traditional day camp that serves 600 campers a day ranging in age from 5-14 for 10-weeks of camp. With 67-acres and a mile of waterfront, we offer a wide variety of programs. This full-time position collaborates with the camp leadership team while directly overseeing the quality, safety, and delivery of all year-round programs including Outdoor Education fieldtrips, camp rentals, Homeschool programs, and school vacation camps. Our year-round programs provide participants with community, connections, and self-confidence. Responsibilities include both admin and direct program delivery. Ideal candidates are independent self-starters with strong communication and organizational skills. Experience in challenge course operations, overseeing staff, scheduling, and program planning are preferred. Requirements:
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and carry food and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely climb ladders and scaffolding required.
- Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
- Position may require bending, leaning, pushing, pulling, kneeling, and walking.
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
- Ability to view/enter data into computer for long periods of time.
- Ability to respond to critical incidents and act swiftly in emergency situations.
Suggested Experience:
- Bachelor Degree from an accredited college or university specializing in Recreation Management, Outdoor Education, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years professional related experience.
- Ability to obtain Level 2 High Ropes Course certification within six-months of employment if not already certified
- Teaching, facilitating, teambuilding experience preferred.
- Strong experience in program design, development and evaluation.
- Experience and certification in high ropes/challenge courses preferred.
- Administrative experience; ability to communicate both verbally and in writing is essential.
- Personnel values consistent with the YMCA mission and core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.
- Strong working knowledge of computers and all common programs such as Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to effectively delegate responsibilities to others and support them in their endeavors as necessary.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- CPR/ First Aid Certification
- Ability and willingness to travel, work weekends, and evenings throughout the year.
