The Assistant Director – Camp Trek is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Camp Trek program, which includes supervising children and staff in this program. Coordinator is responsible for planning and leading scheduled activities and supervising participants during off-site field trips.


Director – After School Program and Camp/ Recreation Program Coordinator


Provide overall management and supervision of Campers in the Trek Camp program.
Prepares for and plans a full complement of field trips and daily activities when not off site on field trips.

Supervises Senior Counselors and manages staff scheduling for Camp Trek.
Coordinates with Naticook Day Camp Director and Waterfront Director for usage of facilities at Wasserman Park when onsite to prevent conflicts.

Serves as primary point of contact with for parents for all information related to the Camp Trek program including behavior management issues; medical emergencies and general program logistics.

Be a role model; teaching campers to be kind to one another.

Provide guidance to a child if their actions put health or safety at risk. Handles all behavior management issues and keeps parents information.

Informs  Summer Camp & After School Program Director of any problems and ask for assistance as needed

Help ensure morale of the campers & staff

Assist in evaluating the entire camp operation with suggestions for the following season
Other duties as assigned.

Ability to communicate and train staff and campers in safety regulations and emergency procedures

Ability to communicate and provide necessary instruction to staff and/or campers
Cognitive and communication abilities to plan and conduct the staff to achieve camper development  objectives

Ability to work with different age and skill levels

Get to remote locations on camp property quickly

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: At least one season of camp administration experience (i.e. senior counselor) Ability to supervise staff and campers Ability to plan, originate, organize, and carry out daily and special programs Good character, integrity, adaptability, and enthusiasm Current CPR and first aid certifications or willing to obtain At least 21 years of age Lifeguard Certification highly desirable
