Key Responsibilities:
- Manage troop/group usage of sites including the check in/out process, equipment, and issuance of equipment for program activities.
- Maintain the site in a neat, presentable and safe condition at all times through assessing all systems, equipment, buildings, roads, pools, and grounds.
- Perform routine and emergency repair and maintenance or supervise the appropriate contractor performing repairs; keep accurate inventory and maintenance records.
- Manage and plan projects and supervise volunteers.
- Develop positive relationships with the customers and the community. Serve as the customer service representative on the site to include communication with all groups using the site, perform inspections of the sites used, and respond to emergencies.
- Provide support services to the summer camp staff as requested.
- Maintain accurate financial records and prepare all financial forms and various reports in a timely manner.
- Interpret for volunteers and staff GSUSA and council standards, policies, and procedures related to property usage.
- Is knowledgeable of, and ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws that affect the property and program held on the property.
- Assist with the program on site whenever possible and when time permits.
- Check customers in/out of the site and provides support to the groups while on site.
- Maintain good public relations with the surrounding community.
- Assist at other council sites for work projects, as directed.

Work Environment:
- Must be able to work outdoors under all weather conditions and various terrains.
- Must abide by council safety protocols and procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- No on-site housing provided.
- Must be able to handle heavy lifting (up to 75 pounds), climb ladders and work at heights above 6 feet, and perform other heavy physical labor on a regular basis.
- Position requires frequent bending, twisting, and crouching.
- Must be able to: Push and pull heavy objects
- Operate machinery (requiring manual dexterity)
- Walk up and down hills and across uneven terrain
Requirements:
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in construction trades or camp maintenance preferred (e.g. carpentry, electric, plumbing, mechanical, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to handle power tools and operate machinery (e.g. tractors, mowers, plows, chain saws, etc.).
- Must be able to handle heavy lifting (up to 75 pounds), climb ladders and work at heights above 6 feet, and perform other heavy physical labor on a regular basis.
- Ability to manage financial resources effectively.
- Ability to work independently and with limited supervision; self-motivated and willing to learn new skills.
- Capacity to, independently and as part of a team, plan, organize and prioritize work, while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced and continuously changing environment.
- Ability to effectively identify, analyze and solve practical problems and successfully manage a variety of variables and personalities; ability to adapt in a changing environment.
- Must have strong customer service skills.
- Must be able to communicate clearly, orally and in writing.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, necessary to carry out assignments.
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule and to travel throughout the council on an as-needed, requested basis.
