Tennis Coach

Camp North Star is hiring tennis coaches to join our TEAM for the 2025 camp season.

Camp North Star is a premier sleepaway camp in Poland Spring, Maine. We are looking to hire motivated, enthusiastic, and experienced staff for the 2024 camp season. The compensation includes all living and food expenses. This position is ideal for college students, seasonal workers, recent college graduates, and teachers.

Overview of Position:

During the program day (Monday through Friday) coach 5 hours of tennis broken up into 1-hour periods. Each period will be a different age and/or skill level. If you have experience coaching a sport other than tennis, that could be added to your daily schedule. Our camps also have sports programs in basketball, baseball, soccer, flag football, and volleyball. Many staff also live in a cabin with 1 or 2 other counselors and help supervise a group of 8 – 10 campers.

Core Duties and Responsibilities:

Communicate effectively with children and staff in all areas of the camp operation. Write and follow lesson plans for activities you are assigned to teach.

Work cooperatively as necessary with all other staff members in planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities.

Assist with all camp program activities and other camp-wide activities as assigned.

Adhere to the rules, regulations, and expectations of the camp, with special emphasis on safety, health, and mutual respect.

Salary and Benefits:

Camp North Star offers a competitive salary, room and board, professional development training, weekly laundry, and staff t-shirts. Tennis coaches can earn additional compensation for teaching private lessons.

We are seeking staff who have: Prior experience coaching youth. We will consider high-level players with limited coaching experience. Ability to coach campers of all skill levels from beginners through advanced. Enthusiasm and motivation to be a positive role model for our campers. Ability to work as part of a team with your fellow staff and alongside our leadership team.
