However\, in 2021\, most summer camps opened by modifying operations and programming. This phenomena of innovation has provided a landscape rich in opportunities to identify how the camping industry responds to change and adopts new practices. To identify factors that mediate the success and longevity of camp innovations\, a survey built using the Innovation Adoption Behavior Model (IAB) was delivered to camp director’s affiliated with ACA New England. Survey data illustrates how internal and external factors mediate innovation adoption and can be used to inform future decisions in the field. \nThank you to our generous sponsor: \nTuesday\, May 10\, 11:00 – 12:00 pm ET\, E-Session on Zoom \nCost: FREE for individual ACA members; $25 for non-members \nThis session will be recorded and shared with registered attendees who are unable to join live to watch for 30 days. \n\nAbout the Presenters:\nLeslie Donne\, Graduate Student\, University of New Hampshire \nLeslie Doone is a graduate student at the University of New Hampshire\, getting a masters in recreation management and policy. She also works for UNH’s CPARC (Community Parks and Recreation Collaborative) lab\, as a consultant for local community programming and building projects. During the summers\, she spends her summers in Maine working at camp\, most recently as a program director. Interested in how innovation drives progress in organizations\, she has spent the last two years studying how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected innovation adoption in the summer industry. \n
