DESCRIPTION:WILDERNESS FIRST AID (Wilderness Medical Associates) \nSaturday\, June 15th (8:00 AM) – Sunday\, June 16th (5:00 PM) \nThis course trains counselors\, especially trip leaders\, in emergency first aid in wilderness environments. Basic ideas for medicine for the field\, emphasis on practical skills\, and realistic simulation exercises are included. This course includes Wilderness Medical Associates (WMA) Adult CPR. \nRequires-Minimum age: 18 (ages 16 & 17 may participate with written parental permission). REQUIRES ONLINE REGISTRATION WITH WMA. WINONA WILL PROVIDE LINK. SPECIAL NOTES: This course meets ACA mandatory Standard: HW-1C. \nPrice: $225 \n\nWINONA TRAINING CLINICS INFORMATION  \nCourse certifications document that a candidate successfully passed the requirements set forth by the American Red Cross (ARC)\, American Heart Association (AHA)\, the State of Maine\, U.S. Sailing Association or Wilderness Medical Associates. \nCertification is not a guarantee at our clinics. Instructors have sole responsibility in determining a candidate’s suitability for enrolling in a course and whether or not certification will be given or withheld\, according to the standards of the governing organization. Starting as a camper at age 8\, she never left camp.  After a short time in Indiana\, she was very excited to come back east to work at ACA\, New England. \nElizabeth has a B.A. in English from Alvernia College\, MS.Ed in Sport Management from East Stroudsburg University and a Masters in Camp Administration from Indiana University. \n  \n  \n \nAmelia Luke – If you call the ACA\, New England office\, you’ll likely hear Amelia’s friendly voice on the other end. However\, as ACA New England’s Operations Coordinator\, you can think of her as a Jane of all trades\, dabbling in many of the projects that the team works on. Amelia’s camp experience began at age 4 when she attended Wanakee in Meredith\, New Hampshire for the first time– she hasn’t looked back since. Amelia attended camp every summer after and served five summers on staff at Wanakee in varying roles from Counselor to Operations Director. \nHer passion for camp is\, in part\, what inspired her to pursue a Masters in Public Administration at the University of Vermont\, after earning her B.S. in Public Communications there.

SUMMARY:Spring Lifeguard Review Course 2022
DESCRIPTION:The Lifeguard Review Course is an abbreviated Lifeguarding course that briefly reviews course information and allows practice of skills and knowledge before testing. \nCurrent certification in Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED is required to participate in the review course. \nStudents who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED which is valid for 2 years. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAdditional Information\n\nPrerequisites: Minimum age: 15 years; Swim 300 yards continuously; Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs; Complete a timed event within 1 minute\, 40 seconds by starting in the water\, swimming 20 yards\, surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object\, return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point\, exit the water without using steps or a ladder. \nParticipants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED\, valid for 2 years. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContact Us\n\nQuestions? \nContact Elizabeth Snell \n781-541-6080 \nelizabeth@acanewengland.org
