Personal Statement –

I believe in the importance of the summer camp experience.  When children spend time with older role models in a non-school setting they gain a deeper sense of self, and an understanding of their role in a community.  I have experience in both residential and day camping, as well as experience running a non-profit. I spent 5 years as the Associate Director of an overnight camp in Maine and 6.5 years as the Director of Summer & External Programs at an independent school in the Boston area.  These gave me extensive experience in many different aspects of program and business management.  Currently, I am the Executive Director of a non-profit that serves girls and teaches financial literacy skills.  Serving on the Board of ACA, New England allows we to stay connected to the camp experience and the camping profession; something that provides me with unending joy.  I believe my current role allows me to bring a unique perspective that can benefit the Association. I’ve received a crash course in non-profit management and that allows me to support the Board and Association with different expertise.
