Vermont

A dozen Vermont camps met in early September to debrief the summer and to enjoy time together after a very busy summer. We gathered at Camp Kiniya in Colchester, Vermont,  in the camp's new dining hall, appropriately named after the camp's long-time food service director. The dining hall is beautifully situated on the edge of a plateau above Lake Champlain, and it was a stellar day for a gathering.

Those in attendance reported a successful season, including the usual challenges and adventures we expect each summer. Conversation included comments about the relationship between new lodging legislation that has been pending in the Vermont legislature for two summers now. Fortunately, concerns voiced by many members of the VCA resulted in adjustments to the legislation in favor of our camps.

The group's winter meeting will be hosted at the Common Ground Center. Our agenda will focus on how Vermont camps are working with diverse campers and staff.
