September State News - Massachusetts Camping Association (MCA)



Christian's Bill (S.2075) was passed through MA legislation this summer including all the amendments that  MCA proposed to support Massachusetts Recreational Children Camps and the intent of the bill to ensure additional safety for all swimmers in natural bodies of water.  Massachusetts  municipal and recreational programs and camps are required to have a system in place to assess their swimmers and provide lifejackets for all non swimmers or swimmers at risk.  Read more about the passing of this bill.

Our Fall workshop will be held on Thursday, October 18th, 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM, Camp Cedar Hill, Waltham, MA.  The agenda includes sharing within roundtables, updates from summer, and workshops on Maintenance/Facility Resources, Implementation of Counselor In Training Programs, and Capitalizing on Today's Technology.  All camping professionals are welcome.  MCA members are free of charge, non members are $25.00.
