Megan Chamberlain becomes the new Director of Camp Programs for the YWCA of Vermont
Megan Chamberlain turns a tent flap as she transitions to be a full time staff member and Director of Camp Programs for the YWCA of Vermont. She will be providing leadership and management for YWCA Camp Hochelaga's summer residential and day camp programs, community relations, and facilities use. YWCA Camp Hochelaga serves more than 1200 people each summer through camp programs, facility use and volunteer opportunitiesthat engage the community in the YWCA's mission, eliminating racism, empowering women. Megan is excited to be a part of the Hochelaga community after Sandy Valine's longstanding leadership.
A New Hampshire native and graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Outdoor Education, Megan has since worked exclusively in experiential education, and comes to Hulbert most recently from The Hulbert Outdoor Center, where she was directing outdoor based experiences in programs like; Family Camp, Women's Leadership, Community Events, and Adult Programs. Prior to that, Megan was directing VT's Camp Farnsworth for girls for 5 years. For 23 years her role in different camp environments have expanded from camper to CIT leader, Adventure Director, Assistant Director, to Director and is excited to bring her advocacy for a girl-centered approach to learning to the YWCA.
