New England States: Status Update and Guidance for Camps


ACA, New England has been meeting with the presidents and representatives from the New England state associations. From those meetings and our consistent monitoring, below is a snapshot of the status of camps in each state. (Updated: 1:40 pm, 7/2)

CT: Day Camps will be able to operate under specific guidelines beginning June 22. Residential Camps will NOT be allowed to operate this summer. Additional Page to Bookmark: CT Office of Early Childhood: Youth Camps and COVID-19 FAQ

MA: Day Camps may open during Phase 2 (starting June 8) - Guidance for Day CampsResidential Camps may open during Phase 4 of Reopening Massachusetts plan.  

ME: Camps may operate under the following guidelines released from the state:  Day Camp Guidance / Overnight Camp GuidanceOverall Phased Opening Schedule

NHDay Camps can begin operating June 22 - NH Day Camp GuidanceOvernight Camps can begin operating June 28 - NH Overnight Camp Guidance.

RI: Camps are allowed to begin in-person operations beginning June 29 in accordance with - State Guidelines.

VT: Day Camps can begin operating June 1. Overnight Camps can begin operating on June 7. Guidance for summer camps: Health Guidance for Childcare and Summer Programs. Overnight camps shall operate in accordance with the Health Guidance for Childcare and Summer Programs along with supplemental guidance for Overnight Summer Camps
