Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Camp Director and with the support of the Assistant Unit Counselor assists in the planning and implementation of fun, interactive, girl-led activities for campers. The Assistant Unit Counselor is instrumental in guiding and supervising campers through the various camping activities and experiences

Reports To: Camp Director

Seasonal/Temporary: June 15 – August 7, 2020

Time Frame: Seasonal


• Must be 18 or older
• Have a desire and ability to work with girls ages 5-17
• Must be First Aid/CPR certified
• Willingness to work in a rustic camp setting
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be available for the full duration of the employment period
•The selected candidate will undergo a thorough reference check as well as a background check prior to employment.


• Must have experience with youth programming or equivalent experience
• Teaching or child care experience desired; organized camp experience preferred
• Experience in Girl Scout programming, camp counseling and/or leadership techniques desirable
• Ability to use own expertise, talents, skills, and creativity to supplement and enrich camp programming
