We are looking for a dynamic leader to join us as a Seasonal Camp Director for our camp in Lebanon, Connecticut. Are you the right candidate? Willing to work hard and bring the joy of the outdoors to 100s of campers over the six-week season. Girl Scout Camp Laurel is a day and resident camp located on over 300 acres of woodlands with rolling hills, a waterfront for swimming and boating, equestrian, arts, crafts, archery, outdoor living skills, science and nature and many other traditional camp programs.
The SEASONAL Camp Director is responsible for the safety, administration, and coordination of all activities at this camp and reports to the year-round Director of Camping Services. She/he plans and directs the day-to-day operation of outdoor programs that compliment the Girl Scout mission. The Camp Director will assist in selecting and is responsible for supervising and evaluating camp staff. She/he will assist in camper recruitment and work as a team with other Girl Scouts of Connecticut Camp Directors. The Camp Director will possess experience which relates to job responsibilities including successful experience in outdoor programs, management of children and staff, and communication skills. She/he will demonstrate good judgment in anticipating and preventing accidents, and possess the ability to make sound decisions in a crisis.
Administrative, Food Service, Waterfront and Program Staff return yearly.
The Camp Director must be at least 25 years of age with prior camp staff experience. Bachelor Degree is preferred. ACA accredited camp. This position is SEASONAL only. Summer season (8-9 weeks) with additional monthly meetings/expectations during the winter months via electronic and or in person communications.
