Special Activity Coordinator - Camp Aranu'tiq or Harbor Camps


Job Description

The special activity coordinator is responsible for creating, planning, and implementing all evening activities and other special activities (e.g., rainy days, 10-year carnival celebration) during Camp Aranu'tiq.

Evening activity is scheduled after dinner each day, approximately 7:00 p.m. – 8:15 p.m., and involves the entire camp. Counselors or counselors-in-training (CITs) will be present to assist. The special activity coordinator may choose to do one large camp-wide activity or decide to break the camp into two smaller groups.

The special activity coordinator will also be the counselor for the CITs (ages 16-18) and will live in a bunk next door to them during two of the weeks of camp. During the other two weeks, the special activity coordinator will live on their own without direct supervisory responsibilities.

Experience leading large group activities with youth

Experience with and desire to work closely with and oversee older teenagers (CITs)

Preference for returning staff with exemplary performance


Planning large group activities for children; experience with transgender community
