Job Description

To provide supervision on and off the water to ensure boating safety. To teach beginning and intermediate sailing skills to campers.

Camp/Organization: Boating Camp / Boating in Boston (ACA Accredited)

Location: Stoneham, Natick, and Hopkinton, MA

Type of Position: Specialized Activity Leader

Time Frame: Seasonal

Requirements

-Must be 17 years or older -Must be comfortable around water and have an intermediate knowledge of sailing.
-Passion for teaching children about basic boating skills and safety
-Must have reliable transportation to work
-Customer service and leadership skills

Experience

-American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid or equivalent
-US Sailing Level 1+ Instructor -Previous experience teaching groups in sailing
-Previous experience working with children
-Previous experience as a counselor, or in a counselor or leader-in-training program

Additional Information

The work required is moderately physically demanding and requires a medium level of physical fitness. Job duties include: -Teach beginning and intermediate boating skills -Leading games and activities -Leading/teaching groups of children -Supervising of children ages 8 - 15 -Supervision of on-the-water and on-shore activities -Working week day hours. Weekend hours might also be required -Other duties as required
