Program Head of Adventure and Campouts - Camp Beech Cliff


Job Description

We are a premier outdoor education day camp with 50 acres of woods bordering Acadia National Park and significant waterfront on Echo Lake. Camp Beech Cliff is seeking qualified applicants for the Adventure and Camping Program Instructor position to lead programs that foster enthusiasm for the surrounding natural setting and adventure activities. This instructor will design a comprehensive campout curriculum for CBC’s weekly overnight program at Seawall Campground in Acadia National Park. This new position will be responsible for running Friday overnight campouts, with support staff, as well as assisting with on-camp programs such as outdoor skills and indoor rock climbing. All staff must adhere to the health and safety laws set forth by the State of Maine Dept. of Human Services Youth Camps Division, and standards for accreditation with the American Camping Association.

Salary: Salary DOE and relevant certifications ($450 - $550 per week).


At least 21 years of age with a clean driving record, and one year’s experience leading outdoor activities with kids. Must enjoy working with youth of all backgrounds, and be passionate about working outdoors and engaging campers ages 7 – 15. Must have the ability to plan a wide range of activities and programs throughout the summer. Availability Mid-June through end of August.


Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and at least two years of direct experience leading indoor rock climbing and outdoor skills, ropes course facilitation, and campouts with kids. If no degree, equivalent work experience preferred.
