Job Description

Purpose: To manage and coordinate development of the Girl Scout Program in camp through the promotion and implementation of activities which will provide progressive learning experiences for the campers.

Organizes, plans, schedules, and manages specific camp programs such as off-camp trips, arts and crafts, ropes course, archery, CITs, Interns, and other camp program areas. Maintains good public relations and communication with campers, their parents, fellow staff, and the community in person and online. Participates in pre-camp training, and assists in the opening and closing of camp. Maintains accurate, up to date records, submits reports and evaluations on time as requested. Actively participates in administrative responsibilities, decision-making, and support services as a member of the camp administration team. Promotes progression in activities and experiences, matched to ability and interests of campers and keeping with the goals and objectives of the Girl Scout program. Supports, schedules, and evaluates staff under direct supervision. Acts as a resource for staff in planning, executing, and evaluating camp activities in the unit, in specialized program areas, and all camp programs. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Familiar with Girl Scout program. 
  • Ability to work within the camp environment.
  • Acceptance of all people and ability to work with girls and adults of various races, religions, and national origins. 
  • Experience leading activities and teaching children and teens in the outdoors. 
  • Experience working with children ages 7-17. 
  • Supervisory experience. 
  • Previous resident camp experience. 
  • At least 21 years of age by June.
