Lead Naturalist - Mass Audubon's Wildwood


Job Description

The Lead Naturalist focuses on planning and leading programs that focus very strongly on natural history. Each week the Lead Naturalist is responsible for running Nature Groups on a natural history topic as well as several Discovery Groups. This person works closely with and assists the Program Coordinator in maintaining Wildwood’s gardens and Nature Center program supplies. This is a seasonal position from June 3rd-August 25th. Options are available to either live on site or commute. Full and part time naturalist opportunities.

Location: Rindge, NH

Type of Position: Specialized Activity Leader

Time Frame: Seasonal


Applicants must be at least 20 years of age. Applicants must have experience in teaching nature-based programs and/or environmental education. Applicant must have a strong knowledge of the natural history of New England and good organizational skills. Applicant should hold or be willing to obtain First Aid and CPR certifications prior to the start of the camp season. Must successfully pass background screening (CORI/SORI).


Gardening or farming experience or prior experience with lesson-planning and curriculum development are a plus.

Additional Information

Salary paid biweekly, comprehensive training, housing and meals available for the duration of employment, and other benefits. Compensation is dependent on experience.
