Job Description

Empower Fernwood Cove campers to be the best version of themselves through active leadership and mentoring. Actively work in a global overnight camp community to organize and lead camp activities and events. Provide safe, positive experiences for campers through our three-and-a-half-week traditional camp program.

Provide quality jewelry & metal smithing instruction to facilitate the skill development and learning of campers ages 7-15. Develop and instruct jewelry and metal smithing activities in accordance to established policies and procedures. Insure all activities are safe, engaging, and fun for campers.

Supervise and lead campers through daily routines throughout the camp session. Facilitate the development of life skills such as communication, collaboration, inclusion, and relationship development while also developing bunk family activities and routines. Encourage and support campers based on their individual needs and goals. Ensure a physically, mentally, and emotionally safe camp experience for all Fernwood Cove campers.

Facilitate other activities and events that contribute to the overall Fernwood Cove program. This includes special events, out of camp trips, and overnight camping options. Embrace leadership opportunities and continually seek opportunities for personal and professional development.

Time Frame: Seasonal

Salary: $900 - $1100/month

Requirements

Advanced level experience in metal smithing, including using a variety of tools associated with metal smithing and jewelry construction.
Advanced level experience in basic jewelry skills such as beading and wire jewelry.
Ability to lift 30 lbs and walk 3+ miles on hilly terrain daily.
Comfort and ease working outdoors and a willingness to lead outdoor activities.

Experience

Prior experience instructing art-based activities to children.
Prior experience working with children in an outdoor setting.

Additional Information

Fernwood Cove is traditional all-girls camp that serves campers ages 7-15. A teen leadership program that offers programs for former campers who are now ages 16-18 is also available.
