The Main Idea is a two week program that provides girls from under resourced areas with a free camp experience. Camp runs from August 11th - August 25th. Counselors must be working at camp for the entire period. All counselors are specialists in an activity, which they teach during the day.
Activities include: Swimming, Canoeing, Sailing, Arts and Crafts, Low Ropes, High Ropes, Climbing Wall, Dance, Drama, Horseback Riding Basketball, Soccer, Softball, Kickball, Volleyball, Tennis, Yoga, Archery, Day Trips and Outdoor Camping
All female counselors are also bunk counselors, living in a cabin with the campers. They get to: Be a live-in role model for a group of girls, from ages 9-14, bond deeply with their campers during Rest Hour, Free Time, and Taps, Help their campers win daily inspection for the cleanest cabin, collaborate with their campers on a host of wacky evening activities, put their campers to bed at night and wake them up in the morning, and deal with any situations in the bunk, as they arise.
All male counselors live in a separate men’s bunk. Male counselors get to: Be positive male role models in the lives of our campers Attend our evening activities Run our evening snack program, Milk Line Help our Riding staff with some fun barn chores

Essential Requirements: Experience working with children At least 21 years old, have a valid drivers license with clean driving record and is comfortable driving 15 passenger vans. 3 professional references Complete our interviewing process Pass a comprehensive background check Pass mandated reporting training
Have experience with driving 12-15 passenger vans. Be proficient in tent camping, building a camp fire, using a Coleman stove, and be comfortable leading a group of novice campers on overnight trips. All other applicants must have a proficiency in, and feel comfortable teaching, one of our daily activity areas.
This is a two week program that runs from August 11-25th.
