Job Description

We are a co-ed overnight summer camp for children ages 8-16 in Washington Maine USA. We offer the campers an array of all elective arts-based programs which the staff help instruct/supervise. We are located on a lake and have swimming and boating activities offered as well. The Camp has been in business since 1967. Our session dates this summer are from June 18th - Aug. 22nd.

Depending on circumstances this position may offer adult non-cabin housing or may be a cabin counselor position which would include living in a cabin with campers and having night activity responsibilities, along with a generous time off schedule.  Room and board (including vegetarian, not vegan, choices) included. Only non-smokers need apply. This is a summer job that is loads of fun, gives you the opportunity to meet others from all over the world (both counselor and camper), and allows you to teach what you love to do!   

We are looking for summer counselors with experience in specific Program areas.

Some of the Skills needed include:

  • Metal Jewelry (Metal Smithing Majors)
  • Enameling
  • Culinary Arts(Culinary course or Commercial Kitchen experience)
  • LampWorking(Hot Glass)
  • Pottery(Kiln experience preferable)
  • Fabric Arts /Sewing and Design
  • Horseback Riding
  • Lifeguards, Sailors,Boat Drivers

*We are also interviewing for any School Art teachers who have camp age children who might like to attend camp, please inquire.

Camp Med-O-Lark also may need counselors in the following areas:

  • Other visual arts – Digital and Film Photography 
  • Performing arts – we are also looking for counselors to teach dance (all forms), drama, music and more
  • Waterfront – we are looking for lifeguards and other waterfront counselors, like those who can drive a speed boat for water skiing.
  • Skateboarding – we have a skateboard park with foam pit and half pipes
  • Culinary Arts – counselors needed for 3 kitchens and an outdoor pizza oven
  • Make up Artist / Special Effects
  • Fabric Arts - Sewing & Design
  • Music - Instrument instruction, Recording Studio Experience
  • Film & Video experience
