Cabin Leaders live in cabins with 8-10 campers and one other leader.
Each cabin leader will focus on teaching programming in one of Chewonki’s Core 4 activity areas: farm & food systems, natural history, outdoor living skills, and watercraft.
Staff may also specialize in elective activity areas including: sailing, recreation, archery, woodworking, visual and performing arts, swimming, and tennis.
Cabin Leaders serve as assistant trip leaders on at least two wilderness trips, varying in length depending on age group.Trips focus on backpacking, canoeing, sea or whitewater kayaking.
Cabin Leaders are also expected to facilitate other aspects of the daily camp program such as special events, meal times, lifeguarding, and evening activities.
