Barn Facilitator - Drumlin Farm Day Camp

 

Job Description

Join our farm-based camp this summer!

Assist in the care and maintenance of our animals and related equipment, helping to facilitate the campers' experiences with our cows, pony, sheep and cat.

Help to develop and deliver our barn-based activities, under the guidance of the the Livestock Manager.

Welcome each group to the barn, and guide them through activities like milking the cow, feeding the sheep, and grooming the pony.

Salary: Starts at $12.00 an hour

Requirements

Experience working with animals. ­
Current certification in first aid and CPR. Advanced certification may be required based on activity location and possible off-site trail rides.
Pass a background records check (CORI, SORI)
Some physical requirements of a Barn Facilitator position could be lifting, bending, stooping, and stretching. Requirements for eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to manipulate equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/program and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat.

Experience

Experience on a farm and/or with large animals is preferred.

You must have a cheerful outlook and be excited to work with kids ages 4 to 13, as well as fellow counselors.

This job works best with someone who is a great communicator, and has a calm disposition with animals and young children.
