The Barton Center for Diabetes Education is a residential summer camp with a mission to improve the lives of children with insulin-dependent diabetes through education, recreation, and support programs which inspire and empower.
The Barton Center runs two concurrent summer camps serving over 800 campers during 1 week, 2 week and 3 week sessions; Camp Joslin for boys and Clara Barton Camp for girls.
This position will help to design, establish and supervise a program that promotes the use of the pool, pond and small crafts with enjoyment and safety.
The program should be age/swimming ability appropriate, providing the camper with opportunities to develop and improve on new and existing skills.
In addition, this person will lead, train and supervise staff members assigned to the waterfront in the facilitation of a sound and safe program.
