Acadia Teen Camp Senior Counselor - Camp Beech Cliff


Job Description

Camp Beech Cliff welcomes qualified applicants for the Acadia Teen Camps Specialty Camp Counselor position. This counselor facilitates group dynamics for approximately twelve campers (ages vary weekly between 13-16 years) to engage and assist in the specialized theme activities. Specialty camp counselors assist with specialized themed activities, co-lead off-site components for specialty camp programming, support individual camper needs and challenging behaviors, and help to plan and prepare overnight components. All staff must adhere to the health and safety laws set forth by the State of Maine Dept of Human Services Youth Camps Division, and standards for accreditation with the American Camping Association.

Type of Position: General Staff

Time Frame: Seasonal

Salary: Salary DOE and relevant certifications ($350 - $425 per week).


At least 21 years of age with a clean driving record, and one year’s experience leading activities with youth. Must enjoy working with youth of all backgrounds, and be passionate about working outdoors and engaging with campers. Commitment to camp Mid-June through end of August with possible work thru October.


Previous camp work and at least two years of direct experience leading activities with ages 12-16 years. Maine Whitewater/Sea Kayak Guide, WFR, AMGA SPI certifications not necessary, but may qualify applicant for additional compensation.
