The camp chef supervises our small kitchen, is responsible for menu planning, ordering, and preparation of 18 meals per week for 70-80 campers and staff. This individual manages two counselor assistants and works directly with the Camp Director to manage budgeting, inventory, and Dining Hall processes. Our chef is an important central member of our community and spends time teaching campers and staff about food and cooking as well as participating in camp life and activities to his/her preferred level.

Tennis Instructor - Summer's Edge Day Camp & Tennis School
Tennis Instructors needed to teach in the SWING & SWIM® portion of the day camp. Small group instruction for players of all levels from ages 7-14 years old. The tennis school begins at 9:00 am for warm ups and instruction on our outdoor courts. At 11:35 am the players proceed to the pool for a free swim. We run from 9am to 4pm five days a week, from June 25th through August 17th. Currently seeking a Health Supervisor to oversee the healthcare of all children's programs happening at Thoreau this summer -- Camp Thoreau, Tennis Camp, 'On Your Toes' Dance Camp, and Planet Thoreau. First and foremost, this position is to serve as Camp Thoreau's camp nurse and to complete all camp duties listed below. Secondarily, this position is to oversee the paperwork, medication administration and emergency procedures for all other children's programs at Thoreau. The main presence will be at camp; however this position is responsible for keeping track of paperwork and daily logs for the other children's programs happening at the club. • Day to day responsibility for implementing Camp Thoreau's Health Care Plan. This includes providing First Aid, individual health care, maintaining health records, administering and managing medications, collaborating with external health care providers and communicating with parents/guardians. • During emergencies or crises, lead and coordinate the camp's response from a healthcare perspective in order to provide for the health and safety of campers and staff. • Review camper and staff Health History Forms. Check for observable evidence of illness, injury, or communicable disease. Verify and update the Health History Forms. • Set up and maintain the nurse's station and infirmary room. • Maintain and follow state medical and treatment standards, as well as American Camping Association standards for Health Care. • Manage and handle the collection, storage and packaging of all medications in camp. • Administer prescribed medication and practices in order to support the recovery and/or maintenance of a camper's or staff member's health. • Maintain camp health logs. The Blue Hills Trailside Museum is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic Education Coordinator II to direct our summer camp and teach a variety of programs throughout the year. Trailside Museum is a small natural history museum situated at the base of Great Blue Hill, owned by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and managed by Mass Audubon. It is the gateway to the 7000-acre Blue Hills Reservation. The museum features exhibits using native, non-releasable animals and offers a variety of educational programs. Responsibilities: Manage and oversee our summer day camp and school vacation camps including curriculum planning, hiring and managing camp staff, overseeing camp marketing and registration. Plan, prepare, and deliver natural history/science based programs to a diverse audience that includes pre-school, school-age, and adult participants, including programs using native, non-releasable wildlife. Work with volunteers and staff members on developing temporary exhibits, educational programs, and planning and implementing special events. YMCA Camp Fuller is a traditional, co-ed overnight camp that has been operating on the Rhode Island coast since 1887. Channel 3 Kids Camp in Andover and Coventry, CT is seeking a Director of Special Needs Programs. This position entails working alongside the Camp Director to design and implement program that integrates typically developing children with those who have physical, emotional, and/or developmental challenges for the 2013 camping season. This is a full time salaried position and will require a start date of June 1, 2012. Salary and benefits will be commensurate with experience of candidate. Degree in recreational therapy or similar field is preferred. 5+ years in camping, specifically in programs designed for special needs is preferred.
