Summer camp gives kids a world of good. The opportunities that summer camp provides are endless: the ability to try new things, the chance to make new friends, and the prospect of gaining independence are just a few.
New England is where summer camp began over 120 years ago. In fact, thirty summer camps in New England have been operating for a century or longer. (Read about them here.) The region also offers all the geographic diversity a summer camp could want to build a program around, from ocean to mountains, forests to ponds.
Accreditation is a voluntary, educational process that our summer camps choose to undergo over three years. This helps them ensure that their policies and standards are in line with the best and most current thinking on safety, facilities, and program.
We're excited to announce that our Find-a-Camp Tool is in the process of being completely redesigned to better serve families in search of great summer camps. While the tool below, when used correctly, will yield helpful results, we are sure that the next iteration, debuting in 2010, will substantially improve things. Until then, please read the next paragraph to learn how best to find a camp with the existing tool. If you would like further assistance, please don't hesitate to read our annual Guide or contact us.
Use this searchable database to help identify ACA-accredited summer camps in the six New England states that match your specific search criteria. The search results will yield brief summer camp profiles and links to summer camp websites. Keep your search broad at first by entering only one or a few criteria. If you get no results, your search may have been too narrow. Hold down the CTRL key (open-apple on a Mac) to choose two or more criteria within a search parameter. Click on the name of the search parameter for more information on what the term means and how choosing items in that box will influence your search results.
