February Vacation Season is now underway for many public school students in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont. New Hampshire's public school students look forward to their vacation the week of the 25th. And independent schools region-wide claim vacation time at various points between now and mid- to late-March! So many families have camp on the brain.....Perhaps you know a lucky camper who gets to go to a camp session during school vacation! Even if you don't, this winter break from school has the capability of turning everyone's thoughts to the coming summer. It IS time to think about summer camp and about your family's camp plan.

Do you have a plan? If not, ACA New England is here for you! Many people are poised to help you since this is the height of the camp search season. Just getting started? These questions can help you. Want to explore a full range of options?  Check out our online Find A Camp Tool. Want to see what a camp is really like? Talk with everyone from camp leaders and representatives to families willing to provide references. Attend an Open House, Gathering or Reunion. Meet the staff, campers and other members of the camp "family"; this will give you a real sense of the camp's culture. And, if you cannot meet camp people in person, talk with them on the telephone and acquaint yourself with the information that's made available on the website and in their print and other materials. We highly recommend taking the time to review all the ways a camp presents itself to the world. Camps put a lot of thought into this process. You'll be amazed at what camps have to offer and what you can learn in person, on the phone, and online!
