Announcing the Winners of our First Day of Camp Facebook Photo Contest
The summer camp season of 2012 winds to a close after Labor Day weekend. Here at ACA New England we are taking a moment to revel in how camp makes people feel—campers and staff alike.
Summer camp experiences bring out the best in each of us. We all belong at summer camp. Camps just cultivate that sense of belonging. Now that it’s time for the first day of school, we at ACA New England are reflecting on the First Day of Camp and the photo contest we held on Facebook over the summer. These two winning photographs strikingly illustrate how campers and counselors feel at the beginning of the season.
Congratulations to Jason Kauffin of Camp Matoaka in Smithfield, ME who captured (at right) the face of a camper who is just about to step into summer at camp. And congratulations to Bobbie Gottschalk from Seeds of Peace Camp in Casco, ME whose photo (above) illustrates the excitement of being reunited with camp friends after a long year apart. May the joys and accomplishments of this summer camp season help sustain you until next summer.
