Barnes Boffey, Camp Director
Barnes Boffey has been associated with Lanakila for more than 50 years, starting as a camper in 1953, and has been the Director of Lanakila since 1992. His Lanakila career has given him experience with campers of all ages: as a counselor, unit head, waterfront head and Assistant Camp Director. Barnes is a 1967 graduate of Middlebury College and holds a doctorate in education from the University of Massachusetts. He has taught in schools at many levels, most recently as the Director of Elementary and Secondary Teacher Preparation at Dartmouth College. During the off-season, Barnes conducts a private practice in individual and family counseling. He also guides schools, residential youth facilities and counseling programs in the development and practice of “Success Counseling,” The Aloha Foundation’s acclaimed mentoring program for youngsters.
