More Than 100 Children Will Get to Go to ACA Accredited Day & Resident Camps in New England in Summer 2012
ACA New England’s inaugural Camp Champions Celebration at Fenway Park’s State Street Pavilion was by all accounts an enormous success. The evening of November 2nd found three hundred friends and fans of the summer camp experience in New England celebrating! Highlights of the evening included tours of Fenway Park with Red Sox official tour guides, photos with the 2007 World Series Trophy (which was accompanied by two guards), a memorable speech from a fourth grade campership recipient from summer 2011, and the presentation of ACA New England’s first Camp Champions Award to June and Eliot Tatelman for their inspirational work at Camp Miracles & Magic.
The excellent work of our Camp Champions Committee, led by Jeff Hacker, owner/director of Camp Cedar in Casco, ME, brought together so many people who really care about summer camp and about providing camp experiences to children who otherwise wouldn’t have access to them. Special thanks go to our generous event sponsors, particularly Bunk1, our Home Run Sponsor. We are equally grateful to all the donors who made this evening possible—ticket donors, auction donors, and Campership Fund donors! And, to all the folks who attended the celebration and bid on the fabulous auction items, we send many thanks! Donations are still coming in! We look forward to the next Camp Champions Celebration in 2012!
