Camp Champions

Save the date for this year's event - November 13, 2015!

The Camp Champions Celebration is an annual event in which supporters of ACA New England gather to celebrate the true spirit of camp and to raise funds that help bring the summer camp experience to the region's children in need.  100% of net proceeds benefit ACA New England's Campership Fund.

Our 2015 Camp Champions Award will be presented to Lisa Loeb, Leading Summer Camp Advocate & PhilanthropistGrammy®-nominated singer/songwriter (platinum-selling Number 1 hit song "Stay (I Missed You)") Lisa Loeb’s own life-changing camp experiences as a camper and counselor continue to inspire her efforts as a camp supporter and advocate.

“I wanted to share the summer camp experience with kids who wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to go to camp.  Kids can learn a lot about themselves, have fun, become great leaders, members of the community, challenge themselves by trying something they’ve never done before.  It’s an amazing experience that resonates through your entire life. How could I not share that?!”

The Camp Lisa Foundation, the nonprofit organization founded by Ms. Loeb, helps send children in need to summer camp. Her CAMP LISA DVD and efforts as a co-writer of the new musical "Camp Kappawanna," which debuted at New York City's Atlantic Theater Company in April 2015, have promoted the unique and transformative power of camp. Several of her songs celebrate summer camp experiences and are sure to be sung where campers gather. Lisa will be the first to share that summer camp had a tremendous positive impact on her life and career. Today, Loeb continues to grow as an artist and to push herself and her career forward with a creative zeal and an inner drive not often seen. Visit and check out this video for more information.

Lisa Loeb will be ACA New England’s fifth Camp Champions Honoree. She joins Anna Gould, Camp Philanthropist, who was honored in 2014 for her efforts to provide the transformative gift of summer camp to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families at ACA Accredited Camp Sunshine in Casco, ME; Eliza Dushku, Actress and Activist, who was honored in 2013 for creating a Girls Program at ACA Accredited Camp Hale, a program of United South End Settlements; the Honorable Thomas M. Menino, Mayor of Boston, who was honored in 2012 for his extraordinary work on behalf of children and families; and June & Eliot Tatelman, 2011 honorees who were recognized for their inspirational work at Camp Miracles & Magic - a camp for children with HIV.

The Camp Champions Celebration makes it possible to provide children in need from CT, MA, ME, NH, RI & VT the opportunity to thrive at summer camp. There is no greater gift than the gift of a summer camp experience!  Every child deserves to benefit from the powerful experience we call camp.
